Privacy policy

1. Who we are

Kahwinku is made by Syaafi Labs (Syaafi Labs Enterprise). Questions about this policy: support@syaafilabs.com.

2. Your wedding

Your events, items, payments, payers, vendors' phone numbers and gift book are kept in Kahwinku's private storage on your phone. Without signing in they are not uploaded to us or to anyone else, and we never see them.

They are included in Android's own backup to your Google account (if backup is on in your phone's settings) and in phone-to-phone transfer, so a new phone gets them back. That backup is between your phone and Google; we can't read it.

You can also save a backup file, choose a folder for automatic backups, or export a PDF or spreadsheet. These files go where you choose and are not protected by the app lock: anyone with them can read what's in them.

3. Planning together

Signing in is optional. If you plan together, you make a passkey for our website with your fingerprint, face or screen lock; it stays in your phone's password manager, and we keep only its public key, never your fingerprint. Kahwinku then stores the name you type and the wedding you share (everything listed above) on our own server (our website's database, hosted on Laravel Cloud). No email address.

It is encrypted in transit, and the wedding is encrypted where it is stored. Nobody at Syaafi Labs Enterprise browses it: our admin area shows only how many people share.

Only the members of a wedding can read it, and only those who can edit can change it. You invite members with a code that works once, for 7 days. Members you invite see the gift book too.

This data is used only to keep the wedding in step between its members' phones. It is not sold, shared with anyone else, or used for ads.

4. Deleting your account

In Kahwinku, Settings › Account › Delete account removes you from every wedding. A wedding you own passes to another member, or is deleted from the cloud when nobody else is in it. The copy on your phone stays until you delete it.

Without the app, email support@syaafilabs.com with the name you used and the wedding's names; we check with its other members, then delete your account. You can also remove the Kahwinku passkey in your phone's password manager.

5. Reminders and the app lock

Payment reminders are worked out on your phone. If you turn on the app lock, Kahwinku uses your phone's own screen lock; it never sees your fingerprint, face or PIN.

6. Permissions

Notifications (optional): asked the first time a payment gets a reminder. No contacts, location, camera or microphone.

The app has no storage permission. Backup and export files go only where you choose with Android's own file screens.

7. Feedback

If you send feedback from Settings, we receive your message, its type, your email if you give it, the app version, Android version, phone model and language. We use it only to answer you and improve Kahwinku, keep it for up to 12 months, and never sell or share it. Your IP address isn't stored with it.

8. Ads

The free version shows ads from Google AdMob. To show and measure ads, AdMob may collect your device's advertising ID, your IP address (which gives an approximate location), how you interact with ads, and diagnostic information. Where the law requires it (for example in the EU, the UK and some US states), you are asked for consent first. You can change your choice at any time in Settings › Ad privacy choices. A Premium subscription in the app turns ads off.

9. Purchases

Premium is a subscription (US$2 a month or US$20 a year) sold through Google Play. Google handles the payment and the renewal, and you can cancel any time in Google Play. Kahwinku only learns whether your subscription is active.

10. Children

Kahwinku isn't directed at children under 13.

11. Changes

When this policy changes, we update this page and the date at the top.
