Policy for Video Compressor
Privacy policy
In short
- Your videos never leave your phone.
- Your original video is never changed.
- The free version shows ads from Google AdMob. You choose what it may use in Settings.
- There are no accounts, and we don't sell data.
1. Who we are
Video Compressor is made by Syaafi Labs (Syaafi Labs Enterprise). Questions about this policy: support@syaafilabs.com.
2. Your videos
You pick a video with Android's photo picker, or share one into Video Compressor. It is compressed on your phone and is not uploaded to us or to anyone else. Your original is never changed. The result is saved to Movies/Video Compressor on your phone. If it isn't smaller than the original, nothing is saved.
While a video is being compressed, a working copy is kept in the app's private storage. It is deleted when the job ends, including when you cancel.
3. Background work
Compressing runs as a background job, so it keeps going when you switch apps or turn the screen off. While it runs, Android shows a notification with the progress and a Cancel button. Another notification tells you when the video is ready.
4. Permissions
Notifications (optional): asked the first time you compress a video, to show progress while you use other apps. If you say no, compressing still works while the app is open.
The app has no storage permission. It has no access to your gallery or files beyond the videos you pick or share.
5. Feedback
If you send feedback from Settings, we receive your message, its type, your email if you give it, the app version, Android version, phone model and language. We use it only to answer you and improve Video Compressor, keep it for up to 12 months, and never sell or share it. Your IP address isn't stored with it.
6. Ads
The free version shows ads from Google AdMob. To show and measure ads, AdMob may collect your device's advertising ID, your IP address (which gives an approximate location), how you interact with ads, and diagnostic information. Where the law requires it (for example in the EU, the UK and some US states), you are asked for consent first. You can change your choice at any time in Settings › Ad privacy choices. A Premium subscription in the app turns ads off.

7. Purchases
Premium is a subscription (US$2 a month or US$20 a year) sold through Google Play. Google handles the payment and the renewal, and you can cancel any time in Google Play. Video Compressor only learns whether your subscription is active.
8. Children
Video Compressor isn't directed at children under 13.
9. Changes
When this policy changes, we update this page and the date at the top.
