Audio Extractor · Last updated [DATE]

In short

  • Your videos and audio never leave your phone.
  • Your original video is never changed.
  • Changing your ringtone needs a permission, asked only when you choose to.
  • The free version shows ads from Google AdMob. You choose what it may use in Settings.
  • There are no accounts, and we don't sell data.

1. Who we are

Audio Extractor is made by Syaafi Labs (Syaafi Labs Enterprise). Questions about this policy: support@syaafilabs.com.

2. Your videos and audio

You pick a video with Android's photo picker, or share a video or audio file into Audio Extractor. The sound is extracted on your phone and is not uploaded to us or to anyone else. Your original is never changed. The audio is saved to Music/Audio Extractor on your phone.

While the sound is being extracted, a working copy is kept in the app's private storage. It is deleted when the job ends, including when you cancel.

3. Recent list

The home screen lists up to 50 audio files Audio Extractor saved, newest first. The list is kept only on your phone. When you remove an entry, you choose whether to delete the file too or only take it off the list.

4. Ringtones

To set a ringtone, notification sound or alarm, Android requires the "Modify system settings" permission. Audio Extractor asks for it only when you tap Set as ringtone, and opens Android's own settings page so you can allow it. It is used only to set the sound you chose. If you don't allow it, nothing else changes.

5. Background work

Extracting runs as a background job, so it keeps going when you switch apps or turn the screen off. While it runs, Android shows a notification with the progress and a Cancel button. Another notification tells you when the audio is ready.

6. Permissions

Notifications (optional): asked the first time you extract, to show progress while you use other apps. If you say no, extracting still works while the app is open.

Modify system settings (optional): only for Set as ringtone, as described above.

The app has no storage permission. It has no access to your gallery or files beyond the videos and audio you pick or share.

7. Feedback

If you send feedback from Settings, we receive your message, its type, your email if you give it, the app version, Android version, phone model and language. We use it only to answer you and improve Audio Extractor, keep it for up to 12 months, and never sell or share it. Your IP address isn't stored with it.

8. Ads

The free version shows ads from Google AdMob. To show and measure ads, AdMob may collect your device's advertising ID, your IP address (which gives an approximate location), how you interact with ads, and diagnostic information. Where the law requires it (for example in the EU, the UK and some US states), you are asked for consent first. You can change your choice at any time in Settings › Ad privacy choices. A Premium subscription in the app turns ads off.

How Google uses this data: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites

9. Purchases

Premium is a subscription (US$2 a month or US$20 a year) sold through Google Play. Google handles the payment and the renewal, and you can cancel any time in Google Play. Audio Extractor only learns whether your subscription is active.

10. Children

Audio Extractor isn't directed at children under 13.

11. Changes

When this policy changes, we update this page and the date at the top.
