PDF Toolkit · Last updated [DATE]

In short

  • Your PDFs and photos are processed on your phone and never uploaded.
  • Saved signatures stay inside the app. Passwords are never stored.
  • The free version shows ads from Google AdMob. You choose what it may use in Settings.
  • There are no accounts, and we don't sell data.

1. Who we are

PDF Toolkit is made by Syaafi Labs (Syaafi Labs Enterprise). Questions about this policy: support@syaafilabs.com.

2. Your files

The PDFs and photos you pick or share into PDF Toolkit are processed on your phone. They are not uploaded to us or to anyone else. Every tool saves a new file, in Documents/PDF Toolkit (or Pictures/PDF Toolkit for images made from PDF pages). Your original files are never changed. Temporary working files stay in the app's private storage.

3. Scanning

The Scan tool uses Google's ML Kit document scanner, which runs inside Google Play services on your phone. The scanner shows the camera, finds the page edges and cleans up the pages; PDF Toolkit only receives the pages you scan. Google Play services downloads the scanner once, the first time you use it. Scanned pages are not uploaded.

While you review a scan, its pages are kept in the app's private storage, so an unsaved scan can be continued if the app is closed.

4. Signatures

Signatures you draw with the Sign tool are saved as pictures in the app's private storage on your phone, so you can use them again (up to 3). No other app can see them, they are left out of Android's cloud backup, and they are never sent anywhere. You can delete a signature in the app; uninstalling the app deletes them all.

A signature placed with PDF Toolkit is a picture on the page, like signing on paper. It is not a certified digital signature.

5. Passwords

A password you type in the Password tool is used only to lock or unlock that PDF. PDF Toolkit never stores it, and it is cleared from the screen after saving. If you forget a password you added, the app can't recover it.

6. Permissions

PDF Toolkit doesn't ask for any permissions. It has no camera or storage permission: files come from Android's file and photo pickers or are shared in by you, and scanning runs in Google Play services. The app can't see your other files.

7. Feedback

If you send feedback from Settings, we receive your message, its type, your email if you give it, the app version, Android version, phone model and language. We use it only to answer you and improve PDF Toolkit, keep it for up to 12 months, and never sell or share it. Your IP address isn't stored with it.

8. Ads

The free version shows ads from Google AdMob. To show and measure ads, AdMob may collect your device's advertising ID, your IP address (which gives an approximate location), how you interact with ads, and diagnostic information. Where the law requires it (for example in the EU, the UK and some US states), you are asked for consent first. You can change your choice at any time in Settings › Ad privacy choices. A Premium subscription in the app turns ads off.

9. Purchases

Premium is a subscription (US$2 a month or US$20 a year) sold through Google Play. Google handles the payment and the renewal, and you can cancel any time in Google Play. PDF Toolkit only learns whether your subscription is active.

10. Children

PDF Toolkit isn't directed at children under 13.

11. Changes

When this policy changes, we update this page and the date at the top.
