Privacy policy

Upsharp · Last updated [DATE]

In short

  • Your pictures never leave your phone.
  • Faces are processed only on the phone and are never used to identify anyone.
  • The free version shows ads from Google AdMob. You choose what it may use in Settings.
  • There are no accounts, and we don't sell data.

1. Who we are

Upsharp is made by Syaafi Labs (Syaafi Labs Enterprise). Questions about this policy: support@syaafilabs.com.

2. Your pictures

The pictures you pick or share into Upsharp are enlarged by AI models that run on your phone. They are not uploaded to us or to anyone else. Results are saved where you choose (Pictures/Upsharp). A result you haven't saved stays in the app's private storage until the next upscale or for up to 7 days, then it is deleted.

3. Faces

When you turn on Fix faces, the app finds faces with Google's ML Kit and redraws them with an AI model, both on your phone. Face data is never stored, never sent anywhere, and never used to identify anyone. Saved pictures with fixed faces carry a standard tag in their file information saying they were edited with AI.

4. Photo information

Saved pictures keep the date they were taken and, if you choose, camera details. Location is always removed.

5. Permissions

Notifications (optional): to tell you when a picture is ready. The app has no access to your gallery or files beyond the pictures you pick or share.

6. Reports

If you use Report a problem with a result, only the reason you choose and your note are sent to our feedback inbox, with the app version, Android version, phone model and language. The picture is never sent. Reports are kept for up to 12 months, like other feedback.

7. Optional downloads

The High quality models and the face model are downloaded from Google Play only when you choose them. You can remove them in Settings.

8. Feedback

If you send feedback from Settings, we receive your message, its type, your email if you give it, the app version, Android version, phone model and language. We use it only to answer you and improve Upsharp, keep it for up to 12 months, and never sell or share it. Your IP address isn't stored with it.

9. Ads

The free version shows ads from Google AdMob. To show and measure ads, AdMob may collect your device's advertising ID, your IP address (which gives an approximate location), how you interact with ads, and diagnostic information. Where the law requires it (for example in the EU, the UK and some US states), you are asked for consent first. You can change your choice at any time in Settings › Ad privacy choices. A Premium subscription in the app turns ads off.

10. Purchases

Premium is a subscription (US$2 a month or US$20 a year) sold through Google Play. Google handles the payment and the renewal, and you can cancel any time in Google Play. Upsharp only learns whether your subscription is active.

11. Children

Upsharp isn't directed at children under 13.

12. Changes

When this policy changes, we update this page and the date at the top.
