What it does

Swipe · 6
01Original quality, in secondsMost phone videos already hold AAC sound. Choose M4A Original and the sound is copied out as it is, with no quality lost.
02M4A or MP3Pick a quality from 64 to 320 kbps. Levels above the video's own sound are marked "no gain", and Voice 64k makes small mono files for lectures.
03Trim with a waveformSee how loud each moment is, drag the handles to the part you want, and play just that part before you save.
04Set as ringtoneMake the result your ringtone, notification sound or alarm, straight from the finished screen.
05Works in the backgroundLeave the app while it works. A notification shows the progress and tells you when your audio is ready.
06Recent filesYour latest extractions stay on the home screen, ready to play, share or set as a ringtone.

Three steps

  1. Pick a video

From your gallery, or share a video or audio file straight in from another app.

  2. Choose format and part

M4A or MP3, a quality level, and the part to keep. The size estimate updates as you go.

  3. Play, share or set

The audio is saved to Music/Audio Extractor. Play it, share it, or set it as your ringtone.

  • Your original video is never changed.

Can it get the sound from online videos?

No. It works with videos on your phone that you pick or share in. It doesn't download anything from websites.

What does "Original" quality mean?

When the video's sound is already AAC and you keep all of it, M4A Original copies the sound out without re-encoding. Nothing is lost, and it usually takes seconds. Trimming or choosing MP3 always re-encodes.

Should I choose M4A or MP3?

M4A plays on modern phones, computers and cars, and can keep the original quality. Choose MP3 for older players and devices that expect it.

Why does setting a ringtone ask for a permission?

Android needs the "Modify system settings" permission to change your ringtone. The app asks only when you tap Set as ringtone, and uses it only for that.
