Questions
Something missing? Send feedback →Why are GIFs so big?
A GIF keeps every frame as a picture of up to 256 colours, so 5 seconds at 480 px and 15 frames a second is often 3–8 MB. Use Fit under MB, a smaller size or fewer frames, or save an MP4 as well.
What if it can't fit my limit?
The app tells you before you make it. Shorten the part or use fewer photos, or choose a bigger limit.
Does the MP4 have sound?
No, it's silent, like a GIF. It plays once; chat apps usually loop short silent videos themselves. Bounce is built into the MP4, so it looks the same.
Are my videos uploaded?
No. Everything happens on your phone, and making GIFs works without internet.
