In short

  • Your photos never leave your phone.
  • The app saves new, smaller copies. Your originals are never changed.
  • Location is always removed from the copies.
  • The free version shows ads from Google AdMob. You choose what it may use in Settings.
  • There are no accounts, and we don't sell data.

1. Who we are

Image Compressor is made by Syaafi Labs (Syaafi Labs Enterprise). Questions about this policy: support@syaafilabs.com.

2. Your photos

You pick photos with Android's photo picker, or share them into Image Compressor. They are compressed on your phone and are not uploaded to us or to anyone else. The app saves new copies to Pictures/Image Compressor on your phone and never changes the originals. If a copy wouldn't be smaller than the original, nothing is saved.

3. Photo information

By default, the copies carry none of the photo's hidden information: location, camera details and the date taken are all removed. If you turn on Keep photo info, the copies keep the date taken and camera details such as the make and model. Location is always removed, and so are serial numbers, owner names and unique IDs.

4. Permissions

The app doesn't ask for any permissions. It has no access to your gallery or files beyond the photos you pick or share.

5. Sharing

Photos leave the app only when you tap Share and choose where to send them.

6. Feedback

If you send feedback from Settings, we receive your message, its type, your email if you give it, the app version, Android version, phone model and language. We use it only to answer you and improve Image Compressor, keep it for up to 12 months, and never sell or share it. Your IP address isn't stored with it.

7. Ads

The free version shows ads from Google AdMob. To show and measure ads, AdMob may collect your device's advertising ID, your IP address (which gives an approximate location), how you interact with ads, and diagnostic information. Where the law requires it (for example in the EU, the UK and some US states), you are asked for consent first. You can change your choice at any time in Settings › Ad privacy choices. A Premium subscription in the app turns ads off.

8. Purchases

Premium is a subscription (US$2 a month or US$20 a year) sold through Google Play. Google handles the payment and the renewal, and you can cancel any time in Google Play. Image Compressor only learns whether your subscription is active.

9. Children

Image Compressor isn't directed at children under 13.

10. Changes

When this policy changes, we update this page and the date at the top.
