Policy for Photo Privacy
Privacy policy
In short
- Your photos never leave your phone.
- The app makes clean copies. Your originals are never changed unless you choose to delete them.
- Access to photo locations is optional and only asked for when it helps.
- The free version shows ads from Google AdMob. You choose what it may use in Settings.
- There are no accounts, and we don't sell data.
1. Who we are
Photo Privacy is made by Syaafi Labs (Syaafi Labs Enterprise). Questions about this policy: support@syaafilabs.com.
2. Your photos
You pick photos with Android's photo picker, or share them into Photo Privacy. They are read and cleaned on your phone and are not uploaded to us or to anyone else. Clean copies are saved to Pictures/Photo Privacy on your phone. Your originals are not changed.
3. What is removed
Everything removes the location, camera and lens details, the date taken, software, owner, artist and copyright names, serial numbers, unique IDs, descriptions and comments. It also removes extra data some phones attach to a photo, such as motion-photo videos and depth maps. The colour profile and the rotation are kept, so the photo looks the same.
Only location removes everything in the same way, then puts back just the camera, lens and date details, so no location can stay behind.
Each clean copy is checked again after it is saved. If the check fails, the result says so.
4. Permissions
Photo location (optional): Android hides where a photo was taken unless an app has this permission. Photo Privacy uses it only to warn you that a photo reveals a location. It asks only for photos shared in from another app, when no location could be read, and only after you tap Check for location. It never asks for photos picked in the app, because Android doesn't reveal their location to any app. With or without it, cleaning works the same and clean copies never include a location.
The permission doesn't let the app open your other photos. It has no access to your gallery or files beyond the photos you pick or share.
5. Deleting originals
If you tap Delete originals, Android asks you to confirm first; the app can't delete photos on its own. Deleted photos go to the system trash, where most phones keep them for about 30 days. Only photos stored on your phone can be deleted this way.
6. Sharing
Photos leave the app only when you share them and choose where they go. When you share photos into Photo Privacy, the share sheet opens by itself once the clean copies are ready.
7. Feedback
If you send feedback from Settings, we receive your message, its type, your email if you give it, the app version, Android version, phone model and language. We use it only to answer you and improve Photo Privacy, keep it for up to 12 months, and never sell or share it. Your IP address isn't stored with it.
8. Ads
The free version shows ads from Google AdMob. To show and measure ads, AdMob may collect your device's advertising ID, your IP address (which gives an approximate location), how you interact with ads, and diagnostic information. Where the law requires it (for example in the EU, the UK and some US states), you are asked for consent first. You can change your choice at any time in Settings › Ad privacy choices. A Premium subscription in the app turns ads off.

9. Purchases
Premium is a subscription (US$2 a month or US$20 a year) sold through Google Play. Google handles the payment and the renewal, and you can cancel any time in Google Play. Photo Privacy only learns whether your subscription is active.
10. Children
Photo Privacy isn't directed at children under 13.
11. Changes
When this policy changes, we update this page and the date at the top.
