What it does

01See what a photo revealsLocation, camera and lens, date taken, software, owner and copyright, serial numbers and more, shown for each photo before you clean it.
02Remove all of itClean copies are saved to Pictures/Photo Privacy. JPEG and PNG are cleaned without touching a pixel, and photos stay upright.
03Or only the locationKeep the camera, lens and date details and remove just the location. The copy is checked for location before it's marked clean.
04Checked after cleaningEach clean copy is read again. You see "Verified clean", or a note if it couldn't be checked.
05Share straight from your galleryShare photos to Photo Privacy and the share sheet opens by itself with the clean copies, ready to send on.
06Delete the originals (optional)Keep only the clean copies. Android asks you to confirm, and most phones keep deleted photos in the trash for about 30 days.

Privacy

  • Photos are cleaned on your phone. They are never uploaded.
  • Your originals are never changed, unless you choose to delete them.
  • Photo location access is optional, and asked only when it can help.
  • The free version shows ads from Google AdMob, which collects some data. You can change your ad choices in Settings.

Why can't it show where photos I pick in the app were taken?

Android hides the location of photos chosen with its photo picker, from every app. Clean copies never include a location either way. To see a photo's location first, share it from your gallery instead.

Does cleaning lower the quality?

Not for JPEG and PNG: only the hidden information is removed, and the pixels stay the same. HEIC, WebP and other formats are converted to high-quality JPEG.

Can I get a deleted original back?

Deleted originals go to the system trash, where most phones keep them for about 30 days. The app only offers to delete them after the clean copies are checked.

Are my photos uploaded?

No. Everything happens on your phone, and cleaning works without internet.
