Privacy policy

Kurto · Last updated [DATE]

In short

  • Your videos never leave your phone.
  • Your original videos are never changed.
  • The free version shows ads from Google AdMob. You choose what it may use in Settings.
  • There are no accounts, and we don't sell data.

1. Who we are

Kurto is made by Syaafi Labs (Syaafi Labs Enterprise). Questions about this policy: support@syaafilabs.com.

2. Your videos

You pick videos with Android's photo picker, or share them into Kurto. They are cut and joined on your phone and are not uploaded to us or to anyone else. Your originals are never changed. Results are saved to Movies/Kurto.

While you edit, the app keeps your changes and read access to the videos you picked, so you can come back to the edit; a video shared into the app is copied into its private storage, because that access ends when the app closes. The edit and any copies are deleted when you start another, or after 7 days. Temporary files made while saving are deleted when the save ends, including when you cancel.

3. Video information

Saved videos keep the original's date, so they sort next to it in your gallery. The location and other information the camera stored in the file are removed.

4. Background work

Saving runs as a background job, so it keeps going when you switch apps or turn the screen off. While it runs, Android shows a notification with the progress and a Cancel button. Another notification tells you when the video is saved.

5. Permissions

Notifications (optional): asked the first time you save, to show progress while you use other apps. If you say no, saving still works.

The app has no storage permission. It has no access to your gallery or files beyond the videos you pick or share.

6. Feedback

If you send feedback from Settings, we receive your message, its type, your email if you give it, the app version, Android version, phone model and language. We use it only to answer you and improve Kurto, keep it for up to 12 months, and never sell or share it. Your IP address isn't stored with it.

7. Ads

The free version shows ads from Google AdMob. To show and measure ads, AdMob may collect your device's advertising ID, your IP address (which gives an approximate location), how you interact with ads, and diagnostic information. Where the law requires it (for example in the EU, the UK and some US states), you are asked for consent first. You can change your choice at any time in Settings › Ad privacy choices. A Premium subscription in the app turns ads off.

8. Purchases

Premium is a subscription (US$2 a month or US$20 a year) sold through Google Play. Google handles the payment and the renewal, and you can cancel any time in Google Play. Kurto only learns whether your subscription is active.

9. Children

Kurto isn't directed at children under 13.

10. Changes

When this policy changes, we update this page and the date at the top.
