What it does

01

Finds the video on the page

Browse in VidSave's own browser. While a page loads, it notices the videos the page pulls in, and a badge shows how many it found.

02

See the size before you save

Every quality the page offers is listed with its file size, so you know what a download will cost before it starts. Free saves up to 720p; Pro, up to 4K.

03

One MP4 that plays anywhere

Streamed video arrives in many small pieces, sometimes with the sound apart. VidSave joins them into a single MP4, copied, not re-compressed.

04

Keeps going in the background

Downloads carry on with a notification when you leave the app, and pick up where they stopped after a dropped signal. A few sites hand their video only to the page; those ask you to keep VidSave open.

05

A player for one hand

Speed from half to four times, brightness on one edge, volume on the other, double-tap to skip, and a lock. Outside the vault, videos keep playing when the screen goes off.

06

Incognito and a private vault

Incognito tabs keep their own cookies and leave no history, where your phone's WebView supports them. With Pro, the vault keeps videos encrypted behind your PIN or fingerprint, out of the gallery.

Three steps

  1. Open the page

Go to the site in VidSave's browser, as you normally would. If it only shows its video to members, sign in on the page first.

  2. Pick a quality

Tap the badge to see every video the page loaded, each quality with its size. Choose one and, with Pro, whether it goes to the vault.

  3. Watch or share

It's saved to Movies/VidSave, where your gallery finds it, or to a folder you chose. Play it in VidSave's player, or share it.

Privacy

  • Downloads come straight from the site to your phone. Nothing passes through a server of ours.
  • Your files, history and bookmarks stay on your phone. There is no account.
  • No analytics and no crash reporting.
  • The free version shows ads from Google AdMob, which collects some data. Where the law requires it, you're asked first.

Won't save
Video protected by a paid streaming service, or a live broadcast before it has finished.
Do my videos pass through your servers?

No. VidSave's browser connects to a site like any browser, and the file comes straight from that site to your phone. We never see what you save or where you browse.

Why can't I save this video?

Video protected by a paid streaming service can't be saved, and VidSave tells you so rather than failing halfway. A live broadcast can be saved once it has finished. Some sites only show their video to people who are signed in: sign in on the page first, then save.

What does Pro add?

No ads, qualities above 720p up to 4K, full speed instead of 1 MB/s, up to 5 downloads at once instead of one, batch download, the private vault, and blocking of ad and tracker requests on the pages you visit. It's US$19.99 a year or US$3.33 a month, and you can cancel any time in Google Play.

What happens to the vault if I uninstall?

Uninstalling deletes the vault and everything in it, and no one can open it after that, us included. Move videos out first: they go to Movies/VidSave, or to the folder you chose.
