01Edges and cleanupGoogle's scanner finds each page's edges, straightens the page and removes stains and fingers. Choose Auto, Grayscale or Black & white.
02Many pages, one PDFScan up to 30 pages at a time and add more whenever you like. You can also scan an existing photo of a page.
03Review before savingDrag pages into order, turn a sideways page, delete a bad one and name the file.
04Copy text, search PDFsTap Text to copy the words on a page. Saved PDFs can be searched in any PDF reader. Works with Latin-script languages.
05PDF or JPG, three sizesSave one PDF, or JPG images to your gallery. Small, Normal or High sets how big the file gets.
06Recent scansYour scans are listed on the home screen, ready to open, share, rename or remove. No watermark and no scan limit.

Three steps

    Point your camera at the page. The edges are found for you; scan as many pages as you need.

  2. Review the pages

    Reorder, turn or delete pages, add more, and name your file.

  3. Save and share

    Save a PDF to Documents/Doc Scanner, or JPG images to Pictures/Doc Scanner. Then open or share it.

Privacy

  • Scans are processed on your phone. Nothing is uploaded.
  • The camera runs inside Google's scanner, in Google Play services. The app itself has no camera permission.
  • Text is read on your phone, with a model from Google Play services.
  • The free version shows ads from Google AdMob, which collects some data. You can change your ad choices in Settings.

Why doesn't the app ask for the camera?

The scanning screen belongs to Google Play services, which uses the camera. Doc Scanner only receives the pages you scan.

Is there a watermark or a scan limit?

No. There's no watermark and no limit on how many scans you make. One scan takes up to 30 pages, and you can add more.

Which languages can it read?

Latin-script languages, such as English, Malay, Indonesian and most European languages. Other scripts, such as Arabic, Chinese or Hindi, aren't read.

Does it work offline?

Yes, once Google Play services has downloaded the scanner and the text model. That happens once, when the app is installed or first used.
